Edible Wild Plants Course
Each year, together with the experienced forager Wies Teepe, I offer a foraging course for those who are particularly interested in the edible wild plants of the city. The course is comprised of one theory session and three excursions followed by a tasting of self-picked plants.
Both native and exotic species are covered. Special attention is given to the plants’ key characters which allow identification and avoid confusion with inedible or even poisonous species.
Besides recognizing edible plant species you will learn which parts of the plants you can use through the seasons and how to prepare them.
Important issues one should consider when foraging, like sustainability, safety, and permission are also part of the course’s program.
